Dear cow, Thank you thank you thank you. You are a lifesaver! Went over to the Apple site and found out what the problem was immediately. Seems the kid, who is in a rush to do everything and has an aversion to reading, loaded the Windows 2000 Pro upgrade over Win 98SE without realizing he needed to set up an Administrator account and password. Therefore, he couldn't access the hard drive and load new software. When he was busy watching the Osbournes or some such show, I installed Windows 2000 over the one he just installed, set up an Administrator account, and all was well. The Apple software for Windows loaded without a hitch. Thanks again! The iPod is Apple's MP3 player. His version is the size of a deck of cards, has a 10 GIG hard drive and appears solidly built. jon

speakers , no sound from them... connected and alive but do not function... dell dimension xps r400 My system is four years old and recently had windows 95 reloaded and disk cleaned up by outside vendor. Everything kept crashing.. At the time the speakers also had not worked for a few months... Been up and running for three months now but still no sound coming from speakers... suggestions.. thanks.
