Just cruising around the internet on the subject material.

Found this..

condor.stcloudstate.edu

I thought Einsteins answer very good, except for the last part of the last sentence.

quote:-
"which is indeed quite different from the religiosity of someone more naive."

Who is naive here is a question easily asked? Where is the evidence that a person untrained in science knows less about the universe then a scientist? There is none of course, as we are talking outside the realm of science. i.e. leads to a religious feeling of a special sort. Well, I have met some folks, read about many more, who appear to be chock a block with <<religious feelings of a special sort.>> and genuine in all respects. I don't think scientists have cornered the market on that score. Enough said.

Apart from that though, his modest assessment of the state of science shines though and says much. He is still near the top of my hero list :-)

edit..
On editorial note at end of link. "It is worth mentioning that this letter was written a decade after the advent of Heisenberg's principle of indeterminacy and the probabilistic interpretation of quantum mechanics with its denial of strict determinism."

My comment: Uhhhh! It was? Big freaking deal.
