I would say that "hippie liberal" is not accurate, that was my point. I have not read most of the posts on the Stop the War thread...there are too many, and I've been busy with other things, like my new thread :-) But, I don't condone the language you posted on my thread against any group: Muslim, Christian, Jewish, or other. So, we probably agree on more than you think. t

rrufff, just wanted to make clear that I express my revulsion to these remarks, if they were made in the way you said them. I am not a "hippie liberal" - but wanted to make that clear anyway ;-) My moderate thread is trying to encourage tolerance on all sides. At the suggestion of several posters in the last day - I've just updated the thread charter to even better express this: Subject 53864 The Moderate Forum A place for all moderates, and liberals, to post links, discuss current events, and just sit and have a coffee. You will be excluded when you call others names - or try to push others out of the group by intimidation. Some thoughts and ideas on moderation in behavior: Message 18861731 • I will be respectful of others, regardless of their perspective or group identification. • I will be suspicious of any "permission" to break the rules in order to get to some perceived enemy. • I will give all technologies, ideas and groups a fair and impartial hearing. • I will assume human complexity. (No one is all good or bad.) • I will stop listening to sources of fear and conspiracy. • I will stop ascribing superhuman features and capacities to people, ideas and systems.
