So we are in for some tough negotiations. We agree on that. I hope our negotiators are as skilled as our soldiers are, and most of all I hope we can avoid any outbreaks of foot-in-mouth disease on the home front. The other parties have one significant advantage in these things: our deliberation process is far more open than theirs, so they have a pretty good idea of what we want and what constraints we face. We have a harder time figuring their goals and problems out. There's not much we can do about that; it's the nature of our system, bt it's still something we have to deal with.
