Few if any of the myriads of customers i talk to in my 2 retail operations want anything to do with the stock market...a 180 from the attitudes prevalent at the recent highs

Interestingly, I get exactly the opposite interpretation from my broad peer group. While attitudes are certainly a 180 from the highs, one would certainly expect that in what has been a grinding three years.

Few, if any,...want anything to do with the stock market

Be sure your not mistaking quiet, but still market active, resignation for non-participation.

Now, I'm not trying to be a smart-ass here, but exactly how close are you with this customer base considering all the posting you do, all times of the day? I just can't reconcile our two experiences.

this attitude of trying to out contrarian a contrary opinion

So now your contrary opinion is enhanced by being contrary to my contraray vilification of your contrariness? -g-

I do agree that few traders are looking for the blast-off that you envision. But I still see/hear many in the general investing public with whispered hopes of having portfolios/retirements saved by a market turnaround...it's just now people have been beaten up once so they don't want to look the bullish fool out loud...no disrespect meant to you and the vocal Mr. Cramer.
