Franklin Graham, the Christian evangelist

That kind of humor goes over well with the big city "Weisenheimers" like you and me, and infuriates the "Flyovers." Dowd basically preaches to her choir. And, God knows, the way things are going, you Liberals need all the cheering up you can get. "kitchen pantry and Elmer Gantry," is not a bad line. But:

You don't tug on Superman's cape
You don't shoot at an Abram's tank
You don't pull the mask off that old Lone Ranger
And you don't mess around with Frank

BTW, I read the Iraqi "Mission Statement" for Frank's operation. Smart people

......Samaritan's Purse has dispatched an international team that includes veterans of several war-relief projects. The team has Americans and Canadians who have worked in Afghanistan, Kosovo, Rwanda, and Somalia. Among them are a doctor, an engineer, and a water specialist.

As tensions mounted in the Middle East, Samaritan's Purse stockpiled emergency supplies and equipment in Amman, Jordan. From there, they can be trucked into Iraq in a matter of hours to bring critically needed relief to people in cities and villages that have been crippled by war.

Resources include a water system that can provide drinking water for up to 20,000 people, material to build temporary shelters for more than 4,000 families, packages of household items for 5,000 families, and medical kits designed to meet the general medical needs of 100,000 people for three months........

I am surprised you haven't posted a link to Tony Judt's column in the "Times" this Sunday on Europe. I love this line.

"The European social model is far more appealing to most of the rest of the world than the hard-edged "American way of life,"

Nice way to "Nuance" Socialism vs Capitalism. :>)

Europe Finds No Counterweight to American Power
