As I said, there's so much more hatred to fight.

You came across as someone who had a narrow-minded view that Jews should be forced to leave Israel based on taking a snapshot in history, a date on which someone could say Jews came and displaced Palestinians. I did not suspect that you had the same level of hate as Emile, Jim and others but rather your thoughts were based on an opinion and you were defending it. Just my thoughts.

I was trying to show you that Jews had been in that area from at least the time of the first Arabs and that this argument or approach was neither practical or just. I also brought up the easy analogy of the Native Americans and someone else posted that you apparently own property that was taken directly from an Indian tribe.

I think we've beaten the dead horse. Israel is here to stay. You're not giving back your estate to the Indians.

Jews have suffered enough and need a tiny strip of land. They have 5% of the land in the mideast. Most of Israel was a desert until they made it into something, with scant natural resources. The US, from liberal to conservative, has consistently supported and stood behind Israel's right to exist.

Beyond that, the nuts on this thread who try to show that we went into Iraq just to appease Israel are really just nuts. Will Israel benefit with oil? Of course. But commerce goes both ways. In fact, the Arab nations making peace with Israel have had more financial benefits from Israel than the other way around.

I suspect that the people who think we are in it for oil (as opposed to the Jewish conspiracy nuts) will be refuted when someone does a calculation of the savings in oil prices vs. the cost of war and rebuilding Iraq. It's an expensive way to save a nickel a gallon.

The people who think Don Rumsfeld looted the museum - well - what can you say about them?
