Sorry Brumar, I really need to reread my posts before pressing the "publish" button. What I meant to say was that Baha'is do NOT go door to door bothering people. I do not deny the good that Christian missionaries do. But they are still overt and obvious missionaries. In contrast Baha'is actually immigrate to a third world country. They establish a business. They make friends with the locals and make every effort to be part of the local community. In the process they are recognized as being Baha'is. They are of course quite open about who they are and what their religion is. But their expansion is more in the form of one-to-one than mass marketing. You will not find some kind of Baha'i hospital in say Gambia. But you will find Baha'i doctors and engineers who are leading normal decent lives and befriending the locals.

We wouldn't be discussing Franklin Graham if he hadn't made that "evil religion" statement. That was unwise on his part because it was publicized widely and will likely hamper his organizations effectiveness in doing good work.

I don't know about you, but I would still be discussing him and other like him. I have never liked evangelists of any kind (not particularly talking about Christianity). Cultures are like ecosystems. You cannot change one part without affecting many other parts. So my stance in "exporting" culture is about the same as my stance on Australian efforts to modify their wildlife...it takes more time and more wisdom than most people have to spare.
