I read a few paragraphs and said, ' Eh? This is boring, this is for folks who know nuttin', move on to something else.'

Unitl last week I had no clue as to who Apple was, I don't pay much attention to the authors except for a few like Friedman for example. It's just one big wall of text out there from which I scan and pick and choose. I'm not into the personalities like you guys...


Some us like to discuss why Apple's thumbsuckers, which you characterize aptly, get repeatedly printed on Page 1 of the New York Times.

A year ago I could not have told the difference between "Apple and Burns." They get the best writers, so we get to know them. There are news junkies, and then there are "News Junkies!"

In Apple's case, they bring him back from semi-retirement when they want to make a point. The "Cute" bit they do is to run pieces like this, that are really "Op Eds," on the front page as "News Analysis."
