I just saw the tape of the man rescuing his dog and don't understand why they arrested him. I mean, he didn't use the firefighters' resources, didn't impede their activities, didn't seem to be risking his own life. If he was made to wait a half and an hour, as he said he was, and could see his dog frantically hurling himself at the sliding glass doors in an effort to escape, I completely understand his instinct to save the dog himself. And as the owner of a pit bull, I can tell you that the dog was likely trying to get to the owner as much as away from the fire. Pits are extremely devoted.
