1- A Tense Seder - Is There An Alternative?
According to Israeli surveys, 94 percent of the Jewish population of Israel celebrated Passover Seders with their families. As we chewed our matzos, and as our eyes teared while eating the bitter herbs, to commemorate our bitter slavery in Egypt, many surely recalled last year's bitter Seder night terror attacks in Netanya and Elon Moreh. Every Jew in Israel waited to hear the terror count, this year, G-d forbid. The Israeli press broadcasted the miracles. More than 50 specific terrorist plots were anticipated. More than 15 prevented. No attacks, this year! No dead. However, we all knew deep in our hearts what could have been. And we all know the bitter reality of what was and what could be, at any time, G-d forbid.
Voice of Judea Commentary:
We all need to stand and applaud the IDF and security services for trying and succeeding, with the help of G-d attacks Seder night. At the same time we need to protest the Sharon government for continuing to allow the hostile Arabs to remain in our midst. Walls, fences, fake peace plans, and new road maps (to Auschwitz) are not going to save us. Far too many Israeli Arabs and "Palestinians" plot to murder Jews, every minute, to rely on constant miracles. The only alternative to restore peace and order internally to Israel is to remove the hostile fifth column from Israel's borders.
We bring this domestic security debacle upon our own heads. There is an alternative. We can expel the hostile Arabs and send them to Iraq where they could help in the rebuilding of Iraq and unite with those who they supported during the war. We are told that when one changes his place of residence he changes his Mazal - Luck. They should have good Mazal in Iraq and the nation of Israel should also have a Mazal Tov, by our enemies being far, far away.

2- A Victory on The Battlefield is that enough?
President Bush can't be too happy with recent developments in Iraq. U.S. troops won a swift, sweat and speedy victory on the battlefield. The press called it a "smart war". There was more emphasis on saving civilian lives and humanitarian aid than on the war itself so as not to alienate the masses in Iraq - the "innocent civilians". The Americans would seek out those few rotten apples and show acts of kindness and humanity to the general population. The Americans demanded ultimate discipline from their troops, so as not to offend the nation of Iraq and the entire Arab nation. A war was launched on Sadam - not on the nation of Iraq, we were repeatedly assured by U.S. spokesmen.
Surely, the masses would welcome their American liberators. The Americans were hoping that their warm treatment of the "innocents" would find reciprocity for at least, a few months.
No such luck for Uncle Sam and uncle George. It took no longer than several days for Shiite clerics throughout Babylon to hold major protests against the American invaders. Every major opposition faction in Iraq is banning the American interim government. The Americans are seen as a greater enemy than Saddam.
Now what? Another fundamentalist Shiite Iranian satellite in the making? Another kookoo anti-American regime in formation? What about all of those acts of kindness shown by our wonderful American liberators now turned invaders and occupiers?
The Americans just don't get it. Islamic and Arab countries are headed by evil dictatorships because Islamic and Arab societies are basically composed of evil nations who truly believe that they have a Divine right to use all force and terror necessary to persecute women, minorities and virtually anyone who does not think like them. Their mirrors are a mirror reflection of their general ugly intolerance that is so prevalent in their backward societies. They never reciprocate acts of kindness to kind liberators. They interpret kindness as weakness and pounce upon the weak.
It is not hatred and despair that fuels Islamic revolutions. It is not cruelty of their enemies unto them that creates hatred or acts of cruelty between them and their own or cruelty that they exhibit towards strangers in their midst. So, what does stand at the root of Arab and Islamic hatred? Firstly, an unfortunate and illogical and unfathomable feeling of sickly hatred. Secondly, hope. Yes, hope, not despair, as we silly westerners erroneously often would like to believe. Yes, hope, betrayed by signs of weakness, acts of kindness and appeasement expressed by their enemies, only inspires them to strike.
America has won the war on the battlefield, because they finally understood that terrorists can only be defeated by force and not by meagre negotiations conducted by wishful thinkers and feeble fools. However, they may have lost the war because they have yet to internalise the horrific reality that Arab dictators are products of their societies and reflect the barbarism of the masses. A regime need not be a democracy to reflect the norms of their society.
This is not the forum to discuss the pros and cons of Islam. And this is not the place to discuss to what extent most Muslims or Arabs have or have not distorted their true religion or culture. This is also not the place to discuss the exact ratio of believers or non-believers in the culture and religion practiced by the dominant factions in most Arab and Islamic lands. That is not the issue at all. The issue is war and terrorism and how to stop it and best neutralize it. What is crystal clear is that it simply will never suffice to fight exclusively against a handful of dictators and to think replacing an evil dictatorship with an evil pseudo-democracy will cure all.
Osama and Saddam may be dining together in Hell, or in some Arab country, alive and well. However, their spirit lives on in the heads and hearts of millions if not hundreds of millions of Muslims and Arabs around the world.
Americans can continue to babble on in their new palaces and towers in Babylon about how one mustn't generalize, in their feeble attempt to make kosher the so called moderates, who plot the downfall of the western Satan in Washington, no less than the known radicals.
Osama and Saddam did not act alone. There was and remains a strong network of support in Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, and so many others who offered them the moral and logistical support that they needed, before, during and after the American illusionary victory.
America knows the truth. However, it is very hard to accept this painful reality. It seems so much easier to sell the illusion that a policy of consistent appeasement to the moderates and the masses will bring peace to America. How wrong they are! This may seem much less painful to fool oneself, until the next multi-state sponsorship of terrorism that brings the next set of towers, bridges or tunnels down, G-d forbid.
It is this very same futile appeasement policy, which guarantees pressure on Israel to join in on the fun, and to appease their local "Palestinian" terrorists. This is part of America's program to appease the Arab and Islamic world - To deliver a weakened Israel, reduced in size and power through the Jew hating quartet's road map. The goal of the road map is to destroy Israel and drive the Jews into the sea. This is exactly where Israel should toss the roadmap... deep into the sea, or the nearest wastebasket for unwanted rubbish. |
