Johnny Apple has always struck me as the Eric Sevaraid of the NYTimes. Appears to be saying a great deal but when you read carefully it's all style and no substance. I have been reading the NYT and the WP daily for the last year and 1/2 now. Along with scanning quite a few others. The reason I get pissed at the Times is because they are the best, and I hold them to a higher standard. I expect the bias. Almost all the papers are liberal in outlook. You can't expect anything else when you consider the source for reporters. I expect they will get enough flack about bringing back Apple that they will retire him to the food columns again.
