You and others here have interesting points to make but do weaken them with huge generalizations like this: 'and quit serving special interests like Big Oil, defense contractors, HMO's and drug companies'. Don't forget that these special interests are us (i.e., American citizens) and one man's special interest is another man's paycheck. Add up the owners/employees and their families of those special interests and you must have tens of millions of people. Throw in enough more (like Federal government employees, teachers, automobile industry, farmers, insurance business, realtors, lawyers, etc.) and you've covered almost everyone. Pick the right subset and throw in some snide insults and you'd have a right wing radio talk show.
