It does seem rather blindly obvious... especially after all the comments from the NY Fed Governor about 'running the printing presses'.... Funny... I thought the Fed's raisson d'etre was to fight inflation. If they come to suspect that they are laying the groundwork for a new era of Stag-flation like we experienced in the seventies, they may rebel from supporting the WH plan (as Volker rebelled from Carter's and Reagan's Fed goals). Unless, of course, Greenspan has been replaced by then....
