I remember the Carter years, I remember the high inflation. While things were tight the nation was pulling together toward a solution. It wasn't until later, with Reagan's October surprise of making a deal to keep the American hostages in Iran until the election was over that the country began to fall apart. That destruction is accelerating today, all the fault of those same Cheney, Rumsfeld, Perle, and Wolferistz neocons that caused such great divisions in the 1980's.
