Hi Maurice - I don't think the idiots are running China. Just usuall nonsesnse. Look at China's economic growth - one of the major achievements of the 20th Century. Want some examples ? UK government (Tory) false statements about MAd Cow (CJD). Known false statemnet to press by scientific boards. Replace by Labour government, which then mishandles hoof-and-mouth disease in cattle, resulting need for massive killing of farm animals. Two health issues, two govermnet, both cock-ups. Note that HK did reasonable job stopping bird flu a few years ago. AIDS got seriously out of hand in the US due to slow, PC response to disease. Had the bath houses been shut down early, would have reduced death tolls maybe by half. Information has also been suppressed in the US. Usually about radioactivity.
