It won't take a scientist to figure out why US population is growing at a much higher rate than other developed countries. The question is whether the trend of immigration will continue? I doubt it. Although it sure helps to take in more Mexican immigrants. The TFR among Hispanic women in CA is around 4.

And even if you double the US population, that will not help too much on the US deficit, corp. debt, and individual debt.
