Lizzie, You sound more like an entrepreneur vs the accountants here (except mindmeld who is a frustrated tech entrepreneur I am convinced). What is your background can I ask? I am a retired EE whose avocation is that of economic scientist, of the Austrian school persuasion. I have never made, nor will ever make a dime from corporate stock or option grants. The option expensing issue is of interest because all by itself it demonstrates so many of the commonly accepted fallacies of mass media economics. With no other issue do you find so many well known financial celebrities twisting themselves into illogical positions while trying and failing to provide an economic and financial justification for a what is really a political position. When union leadership, public employee pension funds, Warren Buffet, and John McCain are all on the same side of an economic or financial issue, it doesn't take much experience or knowledge to realize that whatever truth exists must lie on the other side.
