15:28 ET EBAY eBay Earnings Preview (89.20 -1.54)
eBay reports its Q1 after the close with Multex earnings consensus estimates of $0.32 and revenues of $456.5 mln. In general, analysts expect the co to report a strong quarter in terms of revenues and earnings coupled with an increase guidance for the remainder of 2003. Pacific Growth initiated coverage on the stock today ahead of earnings with glowing remarks about its performance to date but cites concerns over its valuations. In addition, a First Albany earnings cites "further upside in the quarter will be driven by continued growth in overall listings and strong results at Paypal." During the co's last three earnings announcements, the stock has had mixed reactions of 5.1%, 3.1% and -5.8% for its Q4 (beat by $0.04), Q3 (beat by $0.02) and Q2 (n/a) results, respectively.
