KT, I credit US victory in WWII to the 16 million men who served , the 440,000 men who lost their lives the thousands who suffered mental and physical injury. I also credit the public at large for contributing to the war effort in every way possible. They deserve the credit. I think the Russians were responsible for 80% of German combatant deaths. Mike

Roosevelt was much more responsible than Truman for the victory in WWII.

The Soviet Union was more responsible than either of them. It's not appreciated in popular culture that the central conflict of WW2 was between Germany and Russia - the western front was something of a sideshow.
