agreed bob. it need not be an imminent threat. it just has to be a threat to prosperity and liberty, as you say.

it is just amazing that europe can criticize us for our saudi policy while simultaneously criticizing us for iraq policy. it is funny really. those bozo's in france are going to be eating crow for a long time on this one.

i guess if the bush administration can help broker a deal for a palestinian state, the liberal pessimists are going to have to trump up some new policy problem. hah...

i have relatives in europe and they all hate bush. what gives america the right to do what it wants? they say.

our national interest does. our democratic success does. our economic and military strength does. need any other reasons?

Don't let zonder trap you into agreeing with his rhetorical argument that if we "regime change" one despot, we have to "regime change" them all

"Her", please.

If there were any intellectual honesty in circles where it is widely believed that the "regime change" in Iraq was to save the world of a brutal tyrant, yes, one would expect the US not to stop with just one tyrant. If brutal tyrants are a "bad thing" and the world is better off without them, and the military intervention is worth it, intellectual honesty demands the consistent application of the same principles.

But of course as we all know, "saving the world from a brutal tyrant" was not the reason for this invasion, hence why it will not be repeated elsewhere to save the poor suffering people of other countries.
