I agree that false intraday breakouts have been pretty common (the downside of ignoring intraday spikes on the charts). But I also see Jorj's point: An intraday move above your line in the sand might be false, but you don't know that till later, so you'd better take it seriously.

Having said that, I think sometimes there are some good hints (TRIN, new highs, etc.).
