In nearly 60 years, the UN has authorized the use of force only twice: in Korea and the Gulf. It has been argued (correctly, imo) that the current Iraqi war is a continuation of the first Gulf War and was caused by Saddam's abrogation of the ceasefire agreement. In any event, there have been approximately 150 significant hostile episodes and wars since the UN's inception. So much for "collective security." The President has said many times the Iraqi oil belongs to the Iraqi people (not Saddam anymore!). But you prefer to believe the President is lying....ooookay!--MK--
