Gingrich has about as much political touch as Woolsey. No doubt the Bush folk just redecided they want to keep him as far away from the crown jewels as possible. Given the propensity for that group on the defense committee that Perle used to chair to put their feet in their mouths (not to mention the conflict of interests issues), I wouldn't be surprised to see it quietly fade away.
