When the number of stock splits rise sharply a major top is usually in the cards.....when the number of reverse stock splits rise sharply a major bottom is usually in the cards.....A record number of stock splits occured in 2000.....in 2002 and 2003 a record number of reverse stock splits occured....and on this past friday rydex rolled back on a 1 for 3 basis a plethora of their sector funds.

da cheif, the reason the dollar has been so important is that there is a massive derivative play originating from Europe which required US equities to mirror the currency move. Thats what caught the hedgies (and me) on the hop today. They maybe totally scr***d, which err ...wouldn't be a good thing !!. All rumours of course ... so take it fwiw ....
