All people who want a state of their own "deserve" a state. Whether they have been discriminated against in the past or not has nothing to do with this, imho.

The Jews wishing to remain had to convert or die. The price of property and business crashed since as many as one hundred thousand families had to sell their belonging at once, while donkeys and carts' prices skyrocketed. The biggest numbers went to Morocco and Algeria as well as southern France, and all the main port cities around the Med, for better or for worse.
