Even assuming, arguendo, that what you say makes sense, so many people would have to remain silent to one of the world's greatest conspiracies, that it still doesn't make sense.

Compare the upside to the downside.

Bush was in - gradually building up a popularity. The DEMS would have found another way to self-destruct w/o 9/11. Unfortunately, with so many candidates it can't be helped.

At some point, there would have been some sort of terrorist attack, perhaps an embassy or another cole. Bush and the people around him would have, IMO, done exactly the same thing in Afghanistan as they did.

Remember the quotes of not sending a $2 million missle to hit a $2 tent. The stage was set. Al Queda and their ilk were going to do something. Just a matter of time.
