My grandparents arrived off the boat in Montreal with $5 and 3 kids after WWII. Made their way to Ontario, and did farm for quite a while. Grandfather ended up being a supervisor in a plastics factory and grandmother was a nurse. Keep in touch with extended family, there's a reunion every 4 years here in Canada, family newsletter that keeps everyone up on births, deaths and the like, as well as everyone's email, and a group went back to Estonia for a tour 2 summers ago. I didn't go, but my sister, mother, aunt, uncle & grandfather did.
