Newt's brilliant, but his bomb-throwing tactics did a lot to polarize an already polarized town

The House Dems had been in power for so long, and were so arrogant, that it was a joy to watch their agony when the Repubs took over in 94. They just could not believe it. I would bet that John's Schadenfreude in 98 when Gingrich went under was second only to when Nixon had his downfall. :>)
