Combine this with ballooning hedge funds shorting in full force... stock they
must cover. AND BUY BACK.

This is combustible shorts that MUST COVER...
fueling still higher prices.

Do you have any numbers or charts comparing current short interest to historical levels?

Is there any way of knowing if some of the short interest is hedged with offsetting options?

Short squeezes are no doubt a reality of bear markets, but so far their effects seem to be contained. It seems it's going to take a lot of long buying interest to achieve the launch you anticipate. I'm not sure these sudden ramp jobs we have been seeing are what is needed to lure scared money back into the market. A lot of money has been burned coming late to the party after the market has suddenly bounced 10 to 20%. As you have predicted, a lot of folks may miss the launch, and if they do their scared money is not going to be used for launch fuel.
