The claim I run across so often it's depressing is that anyone who criticizes Israeli policies is "anti-Jewish". That's not what I said. I agree with your statement that we should be free to criticize Israeli policies without fear of being accused of anti-Semitism. I respect the criticism leveled against Israeli policies re settlements on the West Bank, handling of the Infitada and other issues, criticism from groups such as Amnesty International. Accusing Bush of being a toadie of "the Jews" and participating in an attack that kills thousands of his own countrymen...that's a titch beyond criticizing Israeli policies in my book. As to the authenticity, it seems everyone quotes the same source. It'd be more credible if there were more quotes from people who'd heard the broadcast (reactions, analyses, and so on), or from other media either supporting or dismissing the claim. Instead, the quote appears primarily where it supports the views already held by the poster/printer/publisher, and only there. The corroboration may be there, I just can't find it. AS to the quote appearing in numerous Israeli papers, I couldn't find any mention of that. Here's what was in the link I sent: Universal Press did release an "editor's note" that the Tribune published on June 14. It said the "I control America" quote had been "widely reported in the Palestinian press but cannot be confirmed in independent sources. Geyer and Universal Press Syndicate regret not having attributed the quote more specifically." 'nuff said. From the seventh site's home page: This war is for and at the behest of Israel / Jews. The Jews are a wealthy, canny and powerful people. Their intent is to remake the Middle East. To make it docile and subservient to Israeli / American. UK interests. Eventually, they fully intend to take over and to rule the world. Further on are multiple hits on David Duke's site. Need I continue?
