Godfrey,

The Dixie Chicks, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins and the rest are all entitled to their opinions. No one is denying them the right of free speech. In fact, I think Tim Robbins has been invited to appear on numerous news programs.

However, those who disagree with them also have the right of free speech to criticize them and the right not to patronize these artists if they wish. Criticism is not the same as intimidation.

Exactly what rights do you think have been taken away from these people?

LOL. I was actually listening to one of my Dixie Chicks CDs yesterday. You must assume that everyone comes out of the same cookie cutter. Wow, this is the first time that I have been called a "Facist Pig." Thanks.

BTW, you might want to practice what you preach and work on your own tolerance. Just a thought, no need to actually follow my advice.

LOL!

You sound like the fascist pig. Freedom of speech does not include freedom from consequences too.....

RE:"War what is good for, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING"

How about freeing people from tyranny. You don't believe in doing that?

<<The Dixie Chicks have taken a big hit lately for exercising their basic right to express themselves. To me, they're terrific American artists expressing American values by using their American right to free speech. For them to be banished wholesale from radio stations, and even entire radio networks, for speaking out is un-American.......Bruce Springsteen>>

I like Bruce's music, but he is wrong here

the people who choose not to buy the Dixie Chicks music and the radio station owners who chose not to play their music are exercising the exact thing Bruce is bitching about in the quote, their American right to express themselves
