With regards to the Stand Down theory, although it is possible, I find it somewhat difficult to believe. The reason being that it would have to be a major conspiracy with all sorts of players involved, including air-traffic controllers and low level personnel at NORAD. Sooner or later someone would talk.

You make it sound like people were twiddling their thumbs during those 30 minutes. The timeline indicates just the opposite. I'll bet you've been out to dinner with 6 or more people and its taken longer than 30 minutes for you all to figure out how to split the check. So put it into perspective. The fact is that jets scrambled to deal with the planes attacking NYC as soon as they were told. If the Air Force intended to stand down, they would have stood down all the way. You know you seem so assured using the power of hindsight to fully comprehend the threat on Sept 11th. Like I said, revise your views to reflect reality. There was no way to know that DC might be a target from AA Flt 77 until about 9:10am. By then it was too late anyway. Get over it. Chris
