<Of course he could be wrong.>

Yep, one data point probably wasn't worth putting on the hard drive.

<What cries out as supreme insult by the shrub and Duncefeld to the American people is to pretend that war with Iraq was about Iraqi liberation. >

Agreed.

<How much cost to tolerate. >

I think what people don't realize, is that over time, 'turning the other cheek' has a tendance to bring the vast 'middle folk' to your side. Fighting back polarizes the situation as who is right or wrong depends on what nastiness you happen to see or hear more about.

<But unlike Candide I will not awaken tomorrow blind to the world around me. >

Yes... you will... me too. That is an important understanding IMO.

<Think of the world in the way my Indian friend thinks of it for just a moment. After living his life in India until 7 years ago, here just under two years, it is his earnest belief that the world will succumb to shariah...>

Think of all the Harvard grads that thought all would succumb to Communism... pretty cruel jokes reality tends to play.

JMHO of course.

Satyagraha (his version of non-violence)

This would be a very effective method of protest by the Muslims against policies they dislike by the USA. In the same way Gandhi's protest was effective against British colonialism (imho)

Don't know yet if they have the smarts to use it.

I have said this before, don't wish to bore, but OBL could have had the USA bases removed from SA just by campaigning for some more cuts to the USA military budget instead of starting a war.

Probably would have worked.

Jim, Enoch Powell had a similar idea in his "rivers of blood" speech decrying immigration to Britain.

The standard of queuing has certainly declined in England in recent decades. Immigrants simply push and shove.

Japan has stayed pure and Japan is a very nice place. Not much murder, theft and mayhem there.

But the USA is the toughest and richest and what a muddle of people there are there. Mongrels are fairly hardy creatures; they have a wide gene pool for a start.
