History has granted special permission to a few "self elected" groups to perform selective non Jewish pogroms too, provided they remain within the borders of the same lawless state. While for the Jews, cosmopolitanism is commonly accepted, may be even appreciated. Like simultaneous pogroms in Morocco and Yemen. Or Iran and Tunisia. They could be unrelated. Like throwing two dices on the map. Of course with many Arab countries whose Jewish populations has fallen below that of its lions, the pogrom has become a luxury item. Take Moderate Morocco for example, right after the 6th day war, there were only 6 guys knifed. Two in Meknes feasted the Israeli victory a bit too loudly in some restaurant: they didn't make it home. The other guys crimes were Jews only. One was a rabbi though, from Berkane, he was brought in dead, not that he said anything before, but he was knifed through the liver. A very badly damaged artery.(I ought to know, I had it difficult to keep his blood pressure above zero for a couple of nights.) No one was arrested or prosecuted. Why, the people had to vent their anger somehow. The Moroccan army the king had sent didn't make it more than the bordellos of Lybia. And the return trip, what a mess. The Algerians had told them: ok you can go through in different trains, weapons first, soldiers next, but for the return trip, forget it. (as told to me by the Moroccan doctor who was medically in charge of them guys, among other untold stories: return trip by sea, three to five months later). Now if you want the follow up on the highly unusual adventures the twelve Migs the Algerians sent to the six days war, told then by Jean Daniel, editor in chief of the Nouvel Observateur, Paris, you've got to ask...
