U.S. Customs Seizes Stolen Iraq Loot

- U.S. Customs officials yesterday said they have begun seizing stolen Iraqi items - some of them from members of the U.S. media - but believe they have not yet intercepted any of the invaluable antiquities looted from Iraqi museums after the collapse of the Baath regime.

If a few people "return from the fog of war" with stolen Iraqi goods, "we intend to shine the light of day on their actions," said U.S. Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Gordon England, at a news conference, where he stood among tacky battle murals and several portraits, including one of Saddam Hussein, recently confiscated by customs officials.
