Hadn't been there since the last Iran/Iraq War... certainly not for the last 8 years after Desert Storm and the imposition of the No-Fly Zone. ... He may have been a mass-murdering Dictator, but he wasn't stupid when it came to his own safety :) He would have gotten his ASS shot off up there (if not by the Iranian-backed terrorists, then by the American-backed Kurds). Anyway, al Islam has only been there less than two years (after the fall of the Taliban, when they passed through Iran - with permission, obviously - to get there and continue the good ole extreme fundamentalist, theocratic fight.)
