I think Newt, who was never known for his sound judgement, has bought himself a one-way ticket back to palookaville. I agree with Newt that Powell should never have dignified that Tyrant in Damascus with a visit. Just builds up his self importance. With his record, he should have got a discussion from a low level type. One of the mistakes that the Clinton Admin made was sending the Sec of State over there about 20 times to grovel at his father's feet when he was the the Tyrant. Newt will lead with his chin when he think he is right, and the devil take the consequences. Good for him. You have not seen the last of him by a long shot.
