John...Re: basic services restored: Puget Sound had a terrible wind and ice storm the day Mr Clinton was sworn in.... and a REALLY terrible snow, wind and ice storm the year before...In our area (middle of the city), power wasn't restored for nearly a week, and in many parts of 3 counties (containing over a million people) power wasn't restored for nearly 3 weeks!!!

We hadn't experienced a war. It just looked like it.

Please try to not be so harsh on our soldiers in a very difficult environment. If things are still bad in say 6 months, with no power or communication (that was previously there)...then maybe it is OK to complain.

After all, the UN "mess" took 6 months....and 12 years.

Right now basic services need to be restored. That's not only the US responsibility by virtue of the role they took in sponsoring the invasion but it's simply good common sense if they wish, long term, to alter the view of the US in the Arab world.
Right now we appear to be not delivering on basic services while simultaneously threatening Iraqis that they best not pick leadership that's averse to US interests. Sounds like precisely the wrong formula. Hopefully, this is all early mistakes
