When a grown man with pitch black hair has it change color after a dip in a pool of chlorinated water, it just means his black hair dye is a cheap one that won't stand up to swimming in a chlorinated pool.

I had a boss once who, as plant manager, was required to attend a corporate meeting every quarter in San Francisco. He always returned with jet black hair that, over several days, turned reddish brown and then returned to it's normal gray color. Until the next quarterly trip.
