Well, there certainly was a motive to just let 9/11 happen. Congress passed a $50 Billion increase in the defense budget shortly after 9/11 (not an easy task in the post Cold War world). Also, wars to dominate the oil rich Central Asian and Middle East could be undertaken, as we've seen since 9/11. Investigations by the FBI that could have thrawrted 9/11 were stopped. Planes weren't scrambled to defend Washington, DC. All of which are reasons why I think there may have been a conspiracy to just let 9/11 happen. So many rich and powerful people have benefitted since 9/11.
