From everything I've read, Powell is very loyal, particularly to the Bush family. For him to resign before the election would take some massive act of disloyalty on the part of Bush, the son. I don't think that's likely to happen because Bush, the son, would take too large a political hit for doing so.

That means the tough times are ahead, at least for those citizens who worry about the neocon agenda.

Just my thoughts.
