This will serve 3 goals. First it is justice. Second it pleases the public. And third it buys us more time. I would add a fourth goal.. Removing all doubt about the justification for removing the regime, even if no hard evidence of remaining WMDs are found (because he hid them or shipped them out of the country). The Nuremburg trials served the purpose of revealing the TRUE BRUTALITY of the Nazi regime. Putting Baathists on trial will serve the same purpose as well, especially with those Arabs who would choose to ignore the already substantial evidence against Saddam.. People who might attempt to revise history, just as some would try and claim the Nazi holocaust against Jews and other "undesirable" populations was a myth. Hawk
