The Europeans could have decided to undermine us, or just do nothing. So, yes, they did get a "vote". Jacob, Naw...France, Germany and Russia did not have to stand up and vote individually this time. That was part of GWB's and Powell's wisdom IMO. They made sure we would learn early who our friends are and more importantly who they aren't. That is invaluable information. They identified our likely ambushers before the first ambush. And they identified them correctly. America will never miss an old French Franc or a Frenchman's new Euro. I believe the French will miss our American $. 6 of my neighbors have rescheduled a group vacation in France this summer to one in Portugal and Spain. You can argue we are going to miss France...but we are not going to miss them much. I believe France, Germany and Russia are on an island with this one...your "Europe" is not backing them up. The three will back down or their economies will back up. Other European countries will quietly enjoy the extra attention and $ from American tourists while watching them continue to impose self-inflicted wounds. The initial lesson the French have yet to learn is... when you want to get out of a hole...first, quit digging. uw
