Saudi Arabia is one of the grossest violators of human rights and I've never seen one word, not one word, from the Administration about this. Any US administration, ever.

Could it possibly have something to do with those rumors of the trillion dollars SA has deposited in US Banks, and that other trillion dollars SA has invested in US stock market?

Looking over USAID web site for Afghanistan, it looks like they are accomplishing quite a bit.

CB - The Saudi's hold the marginal oil export leverage that keeps us in check. Within a few years of stabilizing Iraq and increasing its production capacity we will have reduced their leverage over us.

My guess is we will need to keep a large military presence in Iraq for 10-20 years in order to ensure we can attract the billions of dollars of investment needed.
