Ouch! Now let's see how the administration responds to this. Personally I think they should be held as POWs and passed on to the next government of Iraq.

POWs wear uniforms with identifying insignia, per the Geneva Conventions. So, they aren't POWs, they are Unlawful Combatants. Send them to Guantanamo, where they can share a cell with the kiddie Taliban.

There is a disconnect here. How can they be our allies, if their soldiers are taking action against our interests, in a war-zone? This isn't diplomatic maneuvering, or vetoing at the UN. This is soldiers in doing what soldiers do. If they had been successful, U.S. soldiers would have had to separate the fighting groups, and probably take casualties. Or concede the ground.

In addition to the truth, another casualty of this war is NATO. NATO doesn't mean much, if things like this are happening. I don't think there is a mechanism, to kick countries out of NATO.
