Jerry,

You don't know butkus about media. Your comments indicate a near total unfamiliarity with this world.

Here's a starting point:

Subject 32716

Absorb the BUZZSAW, then you can look at derivative sources like this:

co-watch.org

Glom on to the right hand column here:
rittenhouse.blogspot.com

Even the fascists have good links, center column to get the heartbeat of America:
drudgereport.com

The best of the best? It doesn't exist. But for my money, I'm following Truthout, Buzzflash, Guardian UK and a sleeper, the Scotland Sunday Herald sundayherald.com
which has a way of cutting through the fog better than almost anyone else. Neil Mackay is crucial:
sundayherald.com

Because he leads you here:

Forget about American media. It is nothing but the most evil and despicable propaganda.

Forget about the BBC, for the most part. They had the worst rating of any of the media in covering anti-war protests in Britain. Blair is an evil and despicable landlord of the much touted Beeb.

Here's some of the small remnants of reality for you, within the prison/police state of Amerika:

CNN is slowly sinking to the gutter
You forgot MSNBC. That station and CNN are like two drowning men clutching each other as they go down.

Thought BBC was pretty good actually. I've found it very hard to watch any American TV involving current events since 9/11, including The Newshour and even Charlie Rose when the Middle East is the topic. A pervasive hysteria has taken over the media and only now do I find it faintly bearable.

Want an interesting experience? Tune into a radical streaming audio and have the tv on Fox (or any news channel you wish) with the sound off... A good one is Alex Jones gcnlive.com, daily 9am-noon PST.

It's a movie-like experience, with Jones' thundering his critiques of '1984' tyrannies by what he terms Globalists, reading from the news, while pics on Fox at the same time apparently showing exactly what he's talking about -- "maximum Orwell-ville, picking on the weakest in society, building a nice prison for you and your family with Madison Ave mind control for financially and spiritually raping you. You're going to thank them while there's going to be lots of black-masked men and tv reports saying "don't worry" and holding your hand.

Jones may be avail on your local free-air radio. You can find archives on m2ktalk.com It's free, but you can donate a few bucks once in a while if you like to support gadflies and radicals in their questioning of authority.

Re: comedy show - Jon Stewart's Daily Show is what I catch for news irony on days when the rest of the video media is State Media, i.e., most days.
