The existing range accepted by IPCC is something like 1C to 9C for a doubling of CO2 with a mean near 3C. That could be a range from beneficial warming to extremely dangerous warming. So it's not much use. Any improvement on that would be good.

It all depends on how sophisticated the model is in detecting subtle relations beween input and output IMHO.

Most people would agree with you though.
