I am based in Hawaii, but I am spending an increasing amount of time in Florida where my sweet, elderly parents need a bit more help as the years go on. I typically spend about three months of the year in Asia -- in the last five years most of my time is spent in China, with some time in the Philippines. I used to spend more time in Japan and Vietnam. I frequently travel to Mexico, Singapore, Malaysia and other places -- but I do not know them as well as I know China at this point. My views on things tend to be influenced by seeing the US from both the outside and the inside perspective I get from being out of the country quite often.
