now that was a hefty fall in USDollar, down to 98.3 again

quotes.ino.com

overnight Asia lifted it
probably Bank of Japan at the Fed's urgent request
(complete with some blackmail or other extreme threat)

this occurred since 9am today
when I got up, Commodities on CNBC showed USDX at 99.2
this is almost a 100-pt drop in three hours
under the NYCity watch

something is going on
it aint good
the FOREX is repudiating the recent stock rally

Interesting POV...........

From: Mark Konrad Friday, Apr 25, 2003

No, and this may be amusing: You and I might not be that
far apart. The "labels" have changed significantly over the
years. What's called a "moderate" in the GOP now is
actually LESS conservative than many Democrats were during
Reagan's time and the Democrats are more factionalized than
ever.

Reagan was at the spending-mercy of the Congress and
complained bitterly over and over about not having
the "line-item veto" (something that was finally given to
President Clinton). We have yet to see GW exert any real
authority over spending except to open the floodgates for
the military in the wake of 911.

It's not accurate anymore to simply say "Republicans are
all conservatives" without a reference point. The problem
for the Democrats, and this is a HUGE problem, is that they
no longer have a reliable base and no coherent ideology.
The leadership has moved so far to the left that the GOP
was able to successfully steal the middle (which used to be
called the "JFK Legacy"). One of my concerns is that we are
becoming less of a two-party system and more of a "one
middle party and one far-left party" system.

But that's just my opinion--MK--
